Falling of the Traditional Lacquer Ware and Reconstruction of the Modern Lacquer Art Kou Xiulan Lacquer art was integrated with ware since its birth.From the “ink dye the outside and vermilion paint the inside” wooden bowl used for sacrifice seven thousand years ago to the countless living wares in the Ming and Qing dynasties,ware was the carrier of painting art.The decoration with great elegance and magnificence became the consistent expression in the growth and maturation period of painting ware.As the lacquer ware process reached the peak in Ming and Qing dynasties,this style suffered from a cliff-like sink down instead of just declined.Until modern times,the modern lacquer art which seemed to rise again but still lingered out did not inherit the typical characteristics of lacquer as a speaker,but basically abandoned the traditional way of expression and turned to announce that the traditional lacquer ware art fell and the modern lacquer art regenerated with its modernity mark of text deconstruction and cultural critique.It used the generation of its derivatives from its parent and then forgot it completely.But modern lacquer art with the purpose of contemporary expression couldn't find its way out of marginalized position of art,the new confusion followed:where to go? How far can it go? How to construct the artistic language and style with era characteristics and concepts? Where is the base of construction? What's the value of the ware? Can it become the expression of painting art again? It makes sense that the traditional lacquer ware was abandoned by the modern art as it took its form often in artistan's skill.Lacquer ware took a path which was expensive and luxury.Despite the theory of the Confucian “rules” of gentlemen and the “tools” of God in Taoism,the “device” with the awareness of life referred to ware and also took the original meaning.The ware was a kind of vessel to hold things in it.As a sentence went in The Rites of Zhou·Qiu Officer.the Large Pedes......
